QUICK CLIP: MSNBC: Portman “Backtracked” On Terrorist Gun Ban

TAMRON HALL, MSNBC: "A ban that would keep people on the 'No Fly List' from buying weapons here, but another Senator making big headlines as well on this topic."

MARK MURRAY, NBC NEWS: "Yeah, that's right. That's Ohio Senator Rob Portman, Tamron. He is in a very tough re-election fight this year and he was one of almost the entire Republican Party who, back in December, voted against an amendment by California Senator Dianne Feinstein to prohibit those who are on the 'Terrorist Watch List' from being able to buy guns. He ended up giving an interview yesterday which got broadcast in all of the Ohio media outlets, seeming to suggest that he is now in favor of this kind of legislation but he's a bit backtracked on that as of lately. He ended up saying what he actually supports is more of a watered-down version than the Dianne Feinstein amendment. It was sponsored by Jon Cornyn, the number two Senate Republican who had an amendment. It kind of creates a process by trying to prohibit people who are on the terrorist watch list, but certainly doesn't go as far as Senator Feinstein's amendment from December.”
