During 3-day 8-city tour Strickland highlights how Portman is the best senator China’s ever had
COLUMBUS, OH -- Today the Ted Strickland for Senate campaign is releasing a new web video highlighting Strickland’s recent three-day, eight-city “No More Terrible Trade Deals Tour.”
During the Tour, Strickland spoke with workers and outside companies that lost jobs to foreign outsourcing following the passage of unfair trade deals supported by Senator Portman -- highlighting the contrast between himself and Senator Portman on trade policy and protecting Ohio jobs from being shipped overseas. Strickland held events in Toledo, Lima, Dayton, Columbus, Cincinnati, Youngstown, Cleveland and Akron.
And here’s what they’re saying about Ted’s Tour:

WKBN Youngstown: Ted Strickland stops in Youngstown for Senate campaign tour. “Strickland was surrounded by a few of his supporters across the street from the Parker Hannifin site. There, he called current Senator Rob Portman, ‘the best senator China has ever had,’ saying Portman has a record for voting for unfair, job-killing foreign trade deals, including opposing cracking down on unfair Chinese steel imports.”
WFMJ Youngstown: Portman Is The Best Senator China’s Ever Seen. Ted Strickland “is saying no more terrible deals across Ohio. He says he will stand up for working class Ohioans by opposing trade deals that could export American jobs.”
Strickland’s Ohio Families First Plan calls for enhanced transparency and stakeholder involvement in trade negotiations by requiring that the draft of any trade deal be made public 90 days before Congress votes to authorize Fast Track Authority, and for a period of public comment to precede any vote. In the U.S. Senate, he will continue opposing unfair trade deals and any new efforts by China to gain additional protections, like Market Economy Status.
Senator Portman has been called a “Dedicated Outsourcer;” supported 8 unfair trade deals; voted to grant China Permanent Most Favored Nation Status;failed to crack down on unfair Chinese steel imports as United States Trade Representative; and called anti-Chinese-currency manipulation legislation “counter-productive.” Additional information about Portman’s record on trade is available at www.BeltwayRob.com.
