COLUMBUS, OH — Today the Ted Strickland for Senate Campaign announced that former Governor Strickland has earned the endorsement of the District Council 6 of the International Union of Painters & Allied Trades (IUPAT), an affiliation of IUPAT local unions throughout all of Ohio.

“Ted Strickland has fought for Ohio’s working men and women at every turn and we are proud to endorse his campaign,” said IUPAT District Council 6 Director of Governmental Affairs Gary McPheron. “He’s worked tirelessly on behalf of Ohioans who work for a living, and he will be a true champion for Ohio’s middle class families in the U.S. Senate.”

“I am honored to have earned the endorsement of Ohio’s painters and allied tradesmen and women,” said former Governor Ted Strickland. “I have always stood up for working people because that’s where I come from, and that’s who I put first. Now more than ever, Ohioans need a Senator who will work to grow better wages, tackle the challenges facing the middle class, and who will always fight hard for the interests and well-being of our working men and women."

The IUPAT represents over 3,000 active members in Ohio and includes painters, glaziers, glass workers, drywall finishers, sign & display workers, decorators, paper hangers, fabricators and industrial painters and allied trades.
