COLUMBUS, OH — Today the Ted Strickland for Senate Campaign announced that former Governor Strickland has earned the endorsement of the Communications Workers of America (CWA) District 4.
“We know that Ted Strickland is the right person to represent Ohio's working families,” said Linda L. Hinton, Vice President of Communications Workers of America District 4. "Ted knows the kitchen table issues that real families struggle with everyday and will fight for what's right.”
“I have always been proud to stand up for working people like our communications workers as they help to power Ohio’s economy in so many different and important ways and I’m grateful for their endorsement,” said former Governor Ted Strickland. “I understand the challenges that are facing Ohioans who work for a living because I’ve lived these challenges, and in the U.S. Senate I will always put them first.”
CWA District 4 includes over 200 local unions that represent workers in telecommunications, informational technology, publishing, print and electronic media, manufacturing, higher education, local government and health care.
On Wednesday the Strickland campaign announced the endorsement of the District 6 Painters and Allied Trades. Strickland has also earned early endorsements from President Bill Clinton; U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown; The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee; The Ohio Democratic Party; Ohio U.S. Representatives Tim Ryan, Marcia Fudge and Joyce Beatty; The United Auto Workers; The AFL-CIO; The Ohio State Council of Machinists; the Ohio Education Association and MoveOn.org.
