Privacy Policy
The Strickland for Governor Committee (the “campaign”) is committed to protecting the privacy of your visits to our website. You do not have to identify yourself or divulge personal information unless you choose to provide it. Should you choose to share your personal information, we want you to know how that information is used by us to provide a better user experience and the steps we take to protect your information. Outlined below is our privacy policy
What information is collected?
The only personal information collected is information you give us: In order to comply with Ohio campaign finance laws, we must ask for and collect certain information from donors to the campaign, including name, address, employer and occupation. In order to stay connected with you and build a grassroots campaign, we also collect information you choose to provide, such as your name, address, phone number and email address. If you choose not to give us any information, we may not be able to provide you with the timeliest information about the campaign and issues facing Ohioans.
When you forward a message to a friend: The Website contains opportunities for a visitor to forward items to friends and family. Information about the visitor’s friends and family provided in this way is not retained or used by the campaign.
Children’s policy: Because we care about the safety and privacy of children, we comply with the Federal Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA). The campaign will never knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If we become aware that such information has been submitted, we will immediately obtain parental consent or delete the information.
How is the information collected at the Website used?
We personalize email communications. When you offer your personal information and/or choose to join our campaign we use your information to personalize and customize emails from the campaign to you.
We will not sell your personal information. Under no circumstances will the campaign sell your information for any commercial purposes.
We may share your information with other like-minded organizations.
