Despite the global recession, Ted's efforts to lay the foundation for long-term growth in Ohio are starting to pay off. Ted has been making a string of major jobs announcements over the past week and half. Among the most notable:

  • In Lordstown, Ted and GM announced a third shift and 1,200 new jobs yesterday -- an investment with ripple effects for suppliers across Ohio.
  • In Akron, Bridgestone Americas is building a world-class technical center that will keep hundreds of jobs in the community.
  • In Youngstown, the V&M Star expansion will create 350 new jobs.
  • And in Defiance, GM's Powertrain facility will employ 80 Ohioans in creating the next generation of fuel-efficient engines.
